Added a new search engine. Like the message board, the old search engine had given up so I have installed a new one. It should work ok but if anyone has any problems with it or it doesn't find something that you know should be there, please let me know.

A New Message Board. There have been lots of problems with the webhosts of this site and the message board has given up! With major apologies to anyone who had posted a message already, I have now introduced a new message board. The new board is much more powerful with more features. It does however make it slightly more complicated to use to start with unless you are used to bulletin boards!! The link page to the board contains simple "Getting Started" instructions which I hope will explain what you need to do. Please can I encourage everyone to use this board to post their interests, the names of the families that they are searching, any research problems etc. At present, there are two forums - one for UK originating Elletts and one for Overseas Elletts. Other forums may be added later if needed. These boards are your way to connect with other Ellett researchers and maybe cousins. Indeed, I made contact with a relative of my great great grandfather (Hi Cyril!) through the old message board on here so it is worth doing!

I have now transcribed 21 pages of entries from the 1901 UK census! You can view all the transcripts or check the index of names and click on the hyperlinks where available.
Unfortunately, due to problems with the web hosting of this site, the search facility and message board facility are not working correctly. I am trying to correct the problem as quickly as possible.

Added data from the 1851 and 1891 census index for Dorset which was searched for El*t where the * represents any letter or combination of letters and therefore includes variants of the name Ellett such as Elliott.

Launch of new website! The old Ellett website has now moved to a new location and had a bit of a facelift.
If you have been a regular visitor to the old site, I'd really love to know what you think of the redesign - good or bad.
New features already in place are: a message board to post details of your Ellett ancestors or ask for suggestions, a guestbook and a full search facility of the BMD indexes for England and Wales.
Over the coming week, more new data will be added as well!
